Since I now live more than 8 hours from the nearest Poker room (legal one anyway, lol), I spend a lot of time playing online now and have had to make some major adjustments to my game. Would love to hear any strategies that anyone has found helpful for play in online tournaments.

For the most part, playing tight is a good stratagy online. There's way too much variance in the bluff, and a lot of pushing with very marginal hands. It's common to see a push for 10 to 20xBB from an A-10 or even worse. Step carefully. IMHO

LOL...It's common to see a push that high from 2-9 os! I just got through playing in one of those Pokerstars mega tourneys with 25000 players and couldn't even see a flop without going all in...I think I would have finished stronger by walking away for an hour and sacrificing blinds.

I wouldn't recommend it, but I have cashed twice (once in a single table s-n-g, once in a multi table with about 1500 players) by NOT playing! I also see a lot of the multi tabling players get a quick double up and then just sit out. It sucks from a players point of view, but they usually cash, or get very close. I just can't bring myself to do that. I come from the live game, so I play one table, and I PLAY.

I can't see actually sitting out, but I can see becoming a real rock, at least until the riff raff is gone Wink
