I recently made a trip to the Horseshoe Southern Indiana (just outside of Louisville, KY.) to play a couple of the events in the Denny Crum Poker Open. I only had a couple days, so I played in the first two events. The first event had 165 players, most of which were extremely weak (what should I expect for a $100 buy-in) and was a lot of fun. I made the final table, cashed for a profit, and made a few friends along the way. I made one mistake, and had one poorly timed move that actually worked ...

Saw the broadcast this week. Final table of the 50k HORSE event at the WSOP.

To call Scotty drunk and obnoxious would be generous. It was like watching a train wreck. I kept wondering why the TD didn't say/do anything, although it's possible they did and it wasn't televised. A shameful exhibition of low class behavior.

Erik eventually tried to step it, but it was too little, too late and not his job. Shame on the other pros for encouraging the behavior.

One of the most effective ways to approach the game of poker is by using selective aggression. this is nothing new, and has been proven time and time again by those who have the ability to implement it in it's best application. It involves knowing when to push hard with hands, whether you have a strong hand, or you have a read on the others in the pot that tell you that they will lay down to a proper sized bet. The hardest part about the strategy, IMHO, is the fact that it limits your hand selection ...

I understand that he still has "the itch" to play, but he had to know that he was going to have it before the off-season. I'm curious to hear what others think about where he'll end up. I don't think that the Packers want him to play at all...they want him to stay retired.

Certainly one of the most prolific poker writers out there, Lou Krieger has written so many articles and books that it's hard to categorize him. That's a good thing. I like reading the writings of a well-rounded poker author and there's no one that's written on more topics than Lou. If you haven't yet read Lou's work, I suggest you start. Your game will definitely improve and you will come upon insights uncommon in other author's works.
