I recently made a trip to the Horseshoe Southern Indiana (just outside of Louisville, KY.) to play a couple of the events in the Denny Crum Poker Open. I only had a couple days, so I played in the first two events. The first event had 165 players, most of which were extremely weak (what should I expect for a $100 buy-in) and was a lot of fun. I made the final table, cashed for a profit, and made a few friends along the way. I made one mistake, and had one poorly timed move that actually worked out for me. So one mistake, and one bad beat that I gave. I took a few of those beats also, but that's part of the game.
The Horseshoe runs a great tourney. The staff is very knowledgable, and the main director, Gloria, gets recruited each year to run the satalite room during the WSOP, so she knows her stuff. From the dealers to the wait staff, everything there is top notch. The WSOP Circuit is making a stop there in early October, and I invite any and all who can make the trip to join me there.
