I was thinking about how much my game has evolved/changed over the years. I used to be able to bully tables, then learned selective aggression. I stepped up in stakes and learned how to play like a rock, before slowly becoming a bit more solid and mixing it up on occasion. I was a NL junkie, now I'm moving towards more limit play to avoid the uber-aggressives.

I was playing earlier this week, and realized that there was 1 really strong person (on my left... grrr) and a table full of weak players (some too aggressive, some too tight). I had my most profitable session of the month, after beating up on the weak, and avoiding the strong. I was in Vegas for 11 days, staying and playing at the Venetian (long story). I played mostly $4-8 limit Texas Hold 'em and there were often 2 or 3 tables running. Spotted a few stars (more if interested) and really got comfortable with the room.

Some folks really surveyed the tables, and made specific requests to sit at a particular table. A couple others requested table changes. I'm not ready to give them credit for strategy, just assuming they were looking for a fun, non-confrontational table.

When I head back to the Borgata, I'll try scoping out a weak table.

It's interesting how many times the weak players end up getting paid off in limit. Mainly the lower limits (2-4, 3-6, 4-Cool but even in the "middle" limit games I've played (10-20, 12-30). I still have a firm belief that if you can beat the limit games, you are proving your skill level more than beating the NL games. It's a differant muscle, and proves the fundamentals of the game more than NL.
