My first trip as USPT Rep. Some interesting things. Players like USPT quite a bit. Lots of things learned about being rep. First... Never assume that something is goiung to be ez dealing with Casino. I never dreamed that there would be so much red tape to sell the memberships in the poker room. I knew that Barry and Matthew had do it before so I thought that it would just be a matter of getting Poker Room manger to ok it. NOT SO! Therefore could not sell memberships at all.

Make sure that you have those duck in a row before you go.

Room comps.. Poker room managers operate under the impression that Casino won't comp your room. In fact at Coushatta with "Poison" concert that weekend I was told no rooms available at all. Had to stay in local joint. Barry has
Much better contacts.. At least at Coushatta, use him to try to get room set up.

Setting up with Tom Helo the manager at Coushatta to survey our players to see if we can improve the draw for our events. With cost of gas ect we need to target the events or help the casino target the events for the best draw. A lot of this has to do with geography. Couhatta has to depend a lot on draw from Texas and other longer distance players. We will see how this plays out.

Played in our event Sunday and did rather well. We had a decent turn out with 67 entries. At the final table there was a lot of talk and desire for a chop. I told the players I would go with what they wanted. I did not feel that as the USPT rep I could be the one to block a chop. We should always be aware of the effect on player preception we have as reps. Oh well even tho I was in 2nd chip lead, almost chip lead 500 chip diff I accepted the 7 way chop. Nice pay off and happy players! Most important... Happy Players!
